Midtown Hotel Rotterdam Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Midtown Hotel Rotterdam? It’s way more charming than I expected for a three-star place tucked into the heart of Rotterdam. I mean, the name basically tells you everything – it sits right in the thick of things, surrounded by all that modern architecture Rotterdam’s famous for, but the hotel itself has this understated, almost cozy vibe that feels like a pleasant surprise when you walk in from the bustling streets.
The rooms are honestly better than the star rating suggests – nothing fancy, but they’ve got this clean, minimalist thing going on that works really well. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stays despite being so central; you’d think with all the trams and foot traffic outside you’d hear everything, but the windows actually do their job. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood inside and out, which comes in handy when you’re trying to figure out whether to walk to the Markthal or just hop on the metro.
Location-wise, you’re basically a few minutes from everything that matters without being right on top of the tourist chaos. I found myself walking to the old harbor area pretty regularly, and it’s one of those pleasant strolls where you actually notice the city changing around you – from the sleek office buildings to the more historic bits near the water. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it could be, though I’d still recommend checking with them first if you’re driving in.
Look, it’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but there’s something refreshing about a place that just does the basics really well without trying too hard. The breakfast is solid, the beds are comfortable, and honestly, you’ll probably spend most of your time exploring the city anyway. For what Rotterdam offers – all that cutting-edge architecture, great food scene, and surprisingly walkable downtown – this place gives you a reliable home base without eating up your whole travel budget.
To book hotel in Rotterdam during the spectacular North Sea Jazz Festival, visitors should make reservations well in advance as this innovative port city attracts millions of tourists from around the world seeking modern architecture and Dutch maritime heritage.

Short 10 min walk from Central Station. The room was clean & comfortable. But it was a bit disconcerting with one-way glass right onto the footpath which was hard to get used to.
Susan from United Kingdom (7/10)
The owner was very helpful fixing the few problems that occurred. And the location was great, the room was clean and a good size, it was comfortable and the facilities were good (although a microwave and/or toaster would have been useful in the kitchen).

My friends and i really enjoyed our stay in the Midtown Hotel! The room and bathroom was nice, clean and spacious and we felt in good hands due to the host Natasja. She was honestly so helpful, always made sure we were okay and gave us tips for the city.
