ibis budget Rotterdam The Hague Airport Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to the ibis budget Rotterdam The Hague Airport, I wasn’t expecting much from a two-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best travel surprises come from keeping your expectations in check. This little spot on Rotterdam Airportplein is actually one of those smart finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some sort of code.
The thing about staying near Rotterdam airport is that most people think it’s going to be all jet noise and industrial bleakness, but honestly, the Overschie area surprised me. I mean, yes, you can hear planes if you really listen for them, but it’s not the constant roar you’d expect – more like a gentle whoosh every now and then that actually became kind of soothing after the first night. The hotel itself sits in this cluster of modern buildings that feel way more organized and clean than your typical airport zone. When I checked in (which was refreshingly quick, by the way), the lobby had this bright, minimalist vibe that immediately told me they weren’t trying to be fancy, just efficient and comfortable.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually get what travelers need. The woman at reception didn’t just hand me a key card – she mentioned that the tram stop for getting into central Rotterdam was about a ten-minute walk, and that there’s a decent little cafe around the corner if I needed coffee before their breakfast started. Those kinds of details matter when you’re trying to navigate a new place, especially if you’re dealing with an early flight or just want to explore the city without the hassle of driving and parking. The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from ibis budget – compact but thoughtfully designed, with everything you actually need and nothing you don’t. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower had proper water pressure, which honestly puts it ahead of some pricier places I’ve stayed.
Here’s what really won me over though – the whole setup just works without any drama. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, there’s 24-hour reception for those weird-hour flights, and the breakfast, while simple, hit all the right notes with fresh bread and decent coffee. I watched other guests come and go, and everyone seemed to have that same slightly surprised, satisfied look that I probably had. It’s not trying to be a destination hotel, but for what it is – a smart, clean, well-located base for exploring Rotterdam or catching flights – it delivers exactly what you need. Sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world, especially when you’re paying budget prices but getting genuine competence and care.

Reviews of ibis budget Rotterdam The Hague Airport
Ok place to stay for a short time. – Rebecca from Australia – September 23, 2025 (7/10)
Close to the airport and bus stop. It was clean, neat and tidy.
What could be improved: Incredibly small rooms and the 2nd bed in our triple pulled out of the cupboard. Once it was down there was virtually no room to move but that was ok as we were out most of the time.Nice hotel in great location – Christian from United Kingdom – September 16, 2025 (8/10)
.Staff very friendly and helpful
.Great location with great transport links
What could be improved: Maybe a bit pricey for what you got I had no problems with the room but was expensive for what it was.
Maybe add sausage and bacon to the breakfastReasonably priced convenient accommodation – Rachel from United Kingdom – June 26, 2025 (8/10)
Very nice clean room, quite small for 3 people but cheap.
What could be improved: Breakfast was a bit expensive for 3 people every day and there isn't many places around to eat, but the hotel across the street had a nice restaurant. Having a bed pull down out the wardrobe was a new experience for me 😂Nice hotel to spend the night before the flight. – Eugenio from Netherlands – June 10, 2025 (8/10)
Very attentive and friendly staff, and the room was also nice. Location is top and check-out super easy. Nice shower too.

What could be improved: parking was 18€ per day…Good value – Peter from Australia – December 11, 2024 (7/10)
Great value breakfasts. Large room.
What could be improved: The room cleaning staff were a little lackadaisical.
They need hooks and shelves in the bathroom.
No tea making facilities means you have to go to the machines and pay for hot water.
Parking costs were high.
Not much in the way of restaurants in the area.Close to airport and transport – Kerry from United Kingdom – November 23, 2024 (7/10)
Location
What could be improved: Cramped bedroomGood – Sebastiao from Belgium – November 16, 2024 (7/10)
In general, everything was top, the staff was nice and friendly.
What could be improved: After taking a shower, then you realise there is no hair dryer, then you have to go request it and pay for it. Make sure you park in the hotel parking place, since the hotel is near an aeroport there is no free parking anywhere near.
