d’Ouwe Moer Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to d’Ouwe Moer Apartment on Admiraliteitskade, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. The building sits right along one of Rotterdam‘s most charming waterfront streets, and honestly, the location alone makes this place special. It’s got that perfect balance — you’re in the Kralingen-Crooswijk area, which feels more residential and authentic than the touristy center, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The waterfront setting provides a serene backdrop for your stay.
The Space Itself
This four-star apartment really delivers on comfort without trying too hard to impress. The room setup is thoughtfully designed — you know how some places feel cramped even when they’re technically spacious? This isn’t one of those. The kitchen is actually functional (I mean, you could cook a proper meal here if you wanted), and the whole space has this lived-in quality that makes you feel at home immediately. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so close to the water and main roads. The attention to detail throughout creates an inviting atmosphere.
Location Perks
Here’s what the listing won’t tell you — that 9.5 location rating isn’t just marketing fluff. You’re a five-minute walk from Kralingse Bos, which is basically Rotterdam’s answer to Central Park, and the Kralingse Plas lake is perfect for morning runs or just sitting with coffee. The neighborhood has this great mix of locals and young professionals, so you’ll find proper cafes and grocery stores instead of just tourist traps. Plus, getting into the city center takes maybe fifteen minutes by metro or bike. The surrounding area truly enhances your overall experience.
Why Couples Love It
I can see exactly why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about those canal views, especially in the evening when the light hits the water just right. The apartment gives you privacy and space to actually relax together, which you don’t always get in regular hotel rooms. You can grab groceries at the nearby Albert Heijn, cook dinner together, then walk along the waterfront afterward. It’s that perfect combination of independence and intimacy that makes for a memorable trip. The setting encourages quality time and connection.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.7 rating tells the real story here — this place consistently delivers on its promises. The host clearly knows what they’re doing, and you can tell from little details like having proper coffee in the kitchen and decent Wi-Fi that actually works. Parking can be tricky in Rotterdam, but the area around here is manageable, and there’s good public transport if you’d rather skip the car altogether. What really sets d’Ouwe Moer apart is how it feels like staying in a friend’s place rather than a rental — comfortable, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. Every aspect reflects thoughtful hospitality.
Exploring Rotterdam layers postmodern skylines, dockside street art, and multicultural dining.

Wonderful, luxury accommodation in a great location for exploring Rotterdam – beats any hotel! – Anina from United Kingdom – October 8, 2024 (10/10)
We didn't really know what to expect but we were blown away by the charming and beautifully appointed loft. The location was even better than we expected, with great restaurants and bars just down the street and a stunning view of a little dock with various high-end boats/yachts visible from the balcony terrace. The devil is in the details and this loft had it in spades! From the gorgeous toiletries, integrated sound system, beautiful art and all the kitchen equipment you could ever need, to the high-tech shower, hot-tub and super comfortable beds. (It's worth noting that the second bedroom has 2 single beds, if you are 2 couples, but it didn't bother us.)
What could be improved: The only 'super-minor' bit of feedback would be that larger bath towels would have been nice (but really not essential) It's also worth noting that the hot-tub needs to be booked as an 'extra' option, which is not clear on the Booking.com website, but is apparently listed as an option on Airbnb. (again, not essential)Wonderful – Edouard from France – September 1, 2024 (9/10)

Extraordinary designer loft with everything you need for brilliant holiday. The room was clean and nice with aircon.
What could be improved: Street side parking is quite expensive.
