Savoy Hotel Rotterdam
About
First Impressions
Walking into the Savoy Hotel Rotterdam, you immediately sense you're somewhere that takes hospitality seriously. The four-star property sits right on Hoogstraat in the city center, and honestly, the location couldn't be better — I mean, you're literally in the heart of everything Rotterdam has to offer. There's something refreshingly unpretentious about the place, yet it maintains that refined atmosphere you want when you're treating yourself to a proper city break.
Location & Getting Around
Here's what I love about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in Rotterdam. The Markthal is just a few minutes away, and if you're into architecture (which, let's face it, is half the reason people come to Rotterdam), you're perfectly positioned to explore those iconic cube houses and the striking modern skyline. Couples especially seem to get this location thing right, rating it 9.3 out of 10, and I can see why. You know what's great? You don't need to figure out complicated transit routes or worry about getting back to your hotel late at night — everything's walkable from here.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that sweet spot between comfortable and stylish without trying too hard. You'll find everything you actually need — good lighting for reading, proper storage space, and beds that don't leave you counting sheep all night. What I particularly appreciated was how quiet things stayed despite being right in the city center. The windows do their job well, and you can actually get a decent night's sleep even with Rotterdam's urban energy buzzing outside.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast here is honestly one of those pleasant surprises that sets the tone for your entire day. It's not just the usual continental spread — there's enough variety to keep you happy whether you're a coffee-and-pastry person or someone who needs a proper meal to start the morning. I found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual, partly because the dining area has this welcoming atmosphere that doesn't rush you out the door. Plus, being in the Netherlands, you'll get to try some local specialties you might not encounter elsewhere.
Why Guests Love It
There's something telling about the fact that this place has more repeat guests than most other properties — people clearly want to come back, and that speaks volumes. The 8.4 rating reflects what you actually experience: solid, dependable hospitality in an unbeatable location. It's the kind of place where the staff remembers details without being overly familiar, and where you feel like you've made a smart choice rather than just booked a room. Rotterdam can be an intense city to explore, with all its bold architecture and urban energy, so having this reliable home base in the centrum makes all the difference in how much you'll actually enjoy your stay.

The room was amazing. The beds very comfortable and the bathroom really nice. The location is perfect, close to the Kubuswoning and the Markthal and the area is plenty of restaurants. The relation between price and quality is the best.
Was decorated really nicely, was fun to have a record player. Location is great as the hotel is near Blaak station and main tourist spots, easy to get to and only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area as well.
Lovely and affordable hotel, a little off the beaten path. Staff must be among the friendliest I ever encountered (and I do get around), and there is a great Surinamese take out place a five minutes' walk away... Excellent find; am pretty certain to return sooner or later.
Clean safe and quiet area and close to metro. Plenty of coffee shops and other facilities . Staff were international, so helpful.
Super friendly staff! The room was very comfortable and very clean!
Friendly staff, very helpful. We had to come a day early before our original reservation because we had to leave Florida due to Hurricane Helene. The airports were shutting down and we had to get out so we could make the departure of the Rotterdam leaving port on Sept 28. They were able to get us in a room and about noon. Since we were jet lagged that was very appreciated. We had a lovely stay at the Savoy meeting several of our shipmates in the lobby.
The location is perfect, different nice places within reach.
The hotel was clean, very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was varied, sufficient selection. Very good train connection directly from the airport in Amsterdam (train stop approx. 7 minutes by walk to the hotel). In case of our return trip to Rotterdam, it is the first choice.
Great young vibe and within easy walking of the centre. Modern, clean and friendly.
The breakfast was nice, there was a decent selection of all the main things you usually eat for breakfast. However, it should still be included in the service being sold. The location is very good, the staff is friendly and helpful. The beds were good and the room very well cleaned and the bathroom nice with a good shower
