Rotterdam Teleport Hotel Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Rotterdam Teleport Hotel, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, right? But after spending a few nights there, I actually think the name kind of fits. This three-star place has this quirky, almost futuristic vibe that grows on you, and while it’s not going to blow your mind, it’s got character in a city that’s already pretty forward-thinking.
The thing about Rotterdam is that it’s constantly reinventing itself – you know, after being rebuilt post-war – and this hotel feels like it’s part of that whole aesthetic. The lobby has these interesting geometric patterns and lighting that remind me of the Cube Houses nearby, though honestly, the furniture could use an update. What I really appreciated was how quiet my room was despite being in the city center. You can actually sleep through the night without hearing every tram that passes by, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed.
The staff here genuinely seems to care, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to navigate a city that locals love but tourists sometimes find confusing. They gave me solid recommendations for places that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps – pointed me toward this amazing Indonesian place on Witte de Withstraat that I never would’ve found otherwise. The breakfast is pretty standard continental fare, nothing revolutionary, but the coffee is surprisingly good and they don’t rush you out even during busy morning hours.
Here’s the deal – this isn’t a luxury experience, and at a 7.3 rating, it’s not pretending to be. But sometimes you want a place that feels authentic to the city you’re visiting rather than some generic hotel that could be anywhere. The Teleport gets Rotterdam’s practical, no-nonsense personality right, and honestly, that’s worth something. Plus, you’re a short walk from the Markthal and all those wild architectural spots that make the city special, so you’re not stuck in some business district wondering where the interesting stuff is.

Great location just opposite a tram station. You can get free tea, coffee and hot water at the ground floor eatery and you can mingle with new friends. You can also use the kettle in the room if needed. The room was neat and tidy and we had two chairs and a table too which were quite nice.
