I mean, you walk into this sleek lobby and immediately get why they picked this spot – you’re literally steps from the iconic cube houses and the old harbor, which is pretty much the heartbeat of historic Rotterdam. The whole vibe screams modern Dutch design without trying too hard, and the staff actually seems to enjoy working there, which you notice right away when they’re genuinely helpful instead of just going through the motions.
What really won me over was how this four-star place manages to feel both polished and unpretentious. The rooms are compact but cleverly designed – think clean lines, plenty of USB ports (thank god), and these floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light. I stayed during a busy conference week and barely heard any hallway noise, which is saying something since Dutch business travelers can get pretty animated after a few drinks.

You can walk to the Markthal in about three minutes – and trust me, you’ll want to because that place is food heaven – while the old port area with all its trendy bars and restaurants is right there too.
