  Location is excellent. The rooms are a great size, bathrooms are a good size. Cleanliness, House Keeping exceptional. The restaurant, was fantastic, Food selection was good, but the food at the Basement (bar below,) was par excellent. Service and staff were very friendly, always there to help. A brilliant property, with amazing staff and also an amazing and old building looked after very well.

  My grandfather disembarked from this Hotel (then the HQ and emigrant passenger processing center for the Holland America Line) in 1904. This stay was a special homage to him and to the same named ship I was sailing on, the Rotterdam.

  Location was great, within walking distance of cruise port. Water Taxi stop directly behind hotel provides easy access to city center and other attractions. Quirky old historical building, but the rooms are furnished with modern comfortable amenities. On-site restaurant served great food at reasonable prices, very popular with the locals. Consider booking at a rate that includes breakfast, fantastic offering.

  Our room was huge…and spotless. Possibly the cleanness hotel room we've ever stayed in. The king sized bed was unexpected and very comfortable. The bath had both a modern tub and large separate shower with a rain head and a normal head that you could hold if needed. The staff was always anxious to assist in any way, and the main restaurant was a pleasure… excellent food and service.
