About

First Impressions

Walking into Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam – Central Station, an IHG Hotel, you immediately get that "this is exactly what I needed" feeling. It's not trying to be fancy — this is a solid three-star hotel that knows its strengths and delivers on them. The lobby has that clean, modern Holiday Inn Express vibe, but what really hits you is how incredibly close you are to everything. I mean, Rotterdam Central Station is literally right there, which makes this place perfect if you're planning to explore the Netherlands or just want easy access to the city center.

Location That Actually Matters

Here's the thing about Rotterdam — it's not Amsterdam, and that's actually refreshing. The city has this amazing modern architecture and a completely different energy. Being on Weena puts you right in the thick of things, and honestly, couples seem to get this location better than anyone (they rate it 9.2, which is pretty impressive). You can walk to the Markthal in about 10 minutes, and the Erasmus Bridge — that iconic white bridge you see in all the photos — is an easy stroll. The fact that there's parking right at the hotel is huge if you're driving, because finding a spot in central Rotterdam can be a real headache.

The Room Experience

The room itself is what you'd expect from Holiday Inn Express — clean, comfortable, and designed for people who want to sleep well without paying premium prices. The beds are actually really good (I'm picky about this), and the air conditioning works properly, which you'll appreciate during summer months. What I like is that they don't try to cram too much into the space — there's room to open your suitcase without doing gymnastics around the furniture. The bathrooms are compact but functional, and the shower pressure is decent enough that you won't be standing there wondering if the water is actually on.

Breakfast and Practical Stuff

The breakfast setup is pretty standard Holiday Inn Express fare — continental and buffet style with the usual suspects like pastries, cereals, and coffee that's better than you might expect. It's not going to blow your mind, but it'll definitely fuel you for a day of exploring Rotterdam's museums or wandering around the harbor area. What's nice is that they seem to have a lot of repeat guests, which tells you something about consistency. People don't come back to places that disappoint them, you know?

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn't the kind of place you'll Instagram every corner of, but it's exactly what a lot of travelers actually need — a reliable, well-located base that doesn't break the bank. The staff seems to have their act together, and there's something to be said for a hotel that just works without drama. If you're the type who wants to spend your money on experiences rather than thread counts, and you appreciate being able to hop on a train to Amsterdam or The Hague without any hassle, this place makes a lot of sense. Plus, Rotterdam itself is underrated — give it a chance and you might find yourself planning a return trip.
