You know what caught me off guard about De With Studio’s? The name makes it sound all fancy and artsy, but honestly, it’s this perfectly unpretentious three-star spot that just gets things right without trying too hard. I mean, when I first walked in, I was expecting maybe some pretentious gallery vibe, but instead it felt like someone’s stylish friend had converted their building into a hotel – which, come to think of it, might actually be what happened here.

The studios themselves are surprisingly spacious for what you’re paying, and I actually appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with the design stuff. Clean lines, decent lighting, and – this is key – proper blackout curtains that actually work. The kitchenettes are small but functional, which is perfect if you’re the type who wants to grab some local groceries instead of eating hotel breakfast every morning. Plus, the Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building, something I’ve learned not to take for granted at smaller places like this.

What really sold me on this place was how quiet it stays, even on weekends. I was there during what seemed like a busy period, and you’d barely know other people were around – the soundproofing is better than you’d expect from a place in this price range. The staff is refreshingly straightforward too; they’ll give you actual directions instead of just handing you a tourist map, and they seem to genuinely know the neighborhood well enough to recommend spots that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps.

Look, it’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense – it’s the kind of place that does everything well enough that you’ll sleep great, feel comfortable, and probably book it again next time you’re in the area. Actually, that might be the best compliment I can give it.

  Easy self-check in and well located. Yes – the stairs are Dutch-level steep, but the room is spacious, cosy and well fitted out with a comfy bed and cosy bathroom. Wifi a bit patchy and slow. Nice views from the loft room. Will stay again 🙂
