I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Bed & Breakfast Maria on Sint Agathastraat, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard residential street in Noord. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside.

Maria (yes, there’s actually a Maria who runs this place) has created something really special here. This three-star B&B feels more like staying at your Dutch aunt’s house – if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and actually cared about whether you slept well. The rooms are smallish, I mean, this is Rotterdam after all, but everything’s been thought through. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and honestly, the breakfast situation is where Maria really shines. We’re talking fresh bread from the local bakery, proper Dutch cheese, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine that’s seen better days.

What I really loved about staying here was how it felt like being part of an actual neighborhood instead of tourist central. You’re about a fifteen-minute bike ride from the city center – and yes, Maria will sort you out with bikes – but Sint Agathastraat itself has this quiet, lived-in feel. There’s a little café around the corner where locals actually go for their morning coffee, not just tourists looking for Instagram shots. The area can get a bit quiet in the evenings, which might not be everyone’s thing, but if you’re planning to explore Rotterdam during the day and want somewhere peaceful to come back to, it’s perfect. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but Maria knows all the tricks and will point you toward the spots that don’t require you to move your car at 7 AM. The 8.8 rating this place has earned makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not flashy, but everything just works the way it should.

  I stayed at this apartment during a 4-day holiday (July 14 – 18) and had a great experience overall. The location is convenient—just about 8 minutes' walk to the nearest tram stop, which made getting around easy.
  
  The apartment itself is excellent and well-suited for couples. Both the bathroom and kitchen are private, which added to the comfort and privacy of the stay. The kitchen is quite well-equipped, though it's worth noting that the oven wasn't working during my stay (it's got a tag " NOT IN USE").
  
  On a brighter note, there's a lovely garden at the back of the apartment, perfect for relaxing outdoors.
  
  All in all, a comfortable and cozy place to stay, with just a few things to keep in mind.
  
  What could be improved: One downside was the WiFi—it was quite poor, to the point where I had to use mobile data instead. Hopefully, that gets improved in the future.

  A wonderful accommodation, comfy bed, good shower and useful kitchenette. (Be aware it's self-catering rather than the traditional bed and breakfast).
  Everything was spotlessly clean.

  Good tram connections to the centre and a local supermarket minutes away.
  (You can use your debit or credit card to pay on the trams. Place it on the reader on entrance, it beeps once. Place it on the reader on exit, it beeps twice).

  Everyone made us feel at home. Let us do an early check in and store our bags before we leave. Everything was extremely clean. The private kitchen was a must!

  What could be improved: Misrepresentation: the property is called "Bed and Breakfast" BUT there is no breakfast. This is misrepresentation.
  And Parking " available" is charged extra by the hour between 9 am and 11 pm. also not in the property description which gives the impression it is free.
  I would NOT have booked this property .

  The B&B Maria is in a very good and strategic position.
  You can get to the B&B from the Central Station in less than 15 mins using either tram line 4 or 8 (Also very good if you arrive from Rotterdam airport, just take the underground until central station). You can be in the city centre in 10mins by train or if you fancy a nice walk on the river ca 25 mins.
  There are two supermarkets close to the B&B. The B&B has all furniture for cooking. Coffe and tea were available (maybe a small suggestion is to provide also oil and salts). There are few bars and restaurants close to the B&B which should be nice (we didn't try).
  The place is cosy and warm. Very quiet you can rest and relax. The garden is lovely.
