I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Room Mate Bruno, but this four-star boutique spot completely caught me off guard. The lobby hits you with this really cool industrial-chic vibe, all exposed brick and vintage leather furniture that somehow manages to feel both edgy and welcoming at the same time. You know what really struck me though? The staff actually seemed to care – not in that overly scripted way you get at chain hotels, but like they genuinely wanted you to have a good time.

The rooms are where this place really shines, and I mean that literally – the lighting design is incredible. They’ve got these warm, adjustable LEDs that make everything feel cozy without being dim, plus floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light during the day. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m talking sink-right-in quality), and the bathrooms have these rainfall showers that’ll make you want to extend your stay just for the morning routine. What I appreciated most was the attention to details – decent-sized closets, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that work.

Honestly, the whole property feels like someone put real thought into what travelers actually want rather than just checking boxes. The common areas have this energy where you’ll find yourself lingering longer than planned, maybe chatting with other guests or just enjoying the atmosphere. I noticed they keep things pretty quiet after 10 PM too, which is perfect if you’re trying to actually get some rest. The only minor thing – and this is really nitpicking – is that the elevators can get a bit slow during check-in rushes, but that’s about as bad as it gets here. With an 8.6 rating, you’re looking at a place that consistently delivers on the experience, and after staying there myself, I totally get why people keep coming back.

Hotel in Rotterdam booking should be done early, especially during summer festivals when the city hosts internationally celebrated events and concerts at Ahoy Rotterdam and other iconic venues.

  Amazing customer service. I requested for a brighter room and the shift manager Pedro, went completely out of his way to give us the best possible option that was available. The hotel is a mainstream city hotel of its class, but Pedro made us feel really valued.
