Mr.Lewis Rotterdam Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Mr.Lewis Rotterdam, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical chain hotel — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. The building has this understated industrial vibe that feels authentically Rotterdam, without trying too hard to be trendy. It’s a three-star property, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s basic. The design is clean and thoughtful, with just enough character to make you feel like you’ve discovered something locals might actually know about.
The Delfshaven Advantage
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in Delfshaven, which means you get that historic Rotterdam charm without the tourist crowds. This neighborhood actually survived the WWII bombing, so you’re walking on streets that have real history. The hotel sits right on Heemraadssingel, and I mean, you can stroll to the old harbor in about five minutes. You know what’s great? You’re close enough to the city center (maybe 15 minutes by tram) but far enough away that you can actually hear yourself think. Couples seem to get this — the whole area just has this romantic, slightly off-the-beaten-path feel that works perfectly for a weekend away.
The Room Experience
The room design is where Mr.Lewis really shows its personality. Everything feels deliberately chosen — not like someone just ordered furniture from a catalog. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. What struck me most was the attention to lighting — they actually understand that harsh overhead lights kill the mood. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during the day, and the blackout curtains actually work when you need to sleep in.
Neighborhood Gems
One thing that surprised me was how walkable everything is from here. There’s this great little restaurant scene developing in Delfshaven that most tourists completely miss. You’ve got the historic Pilgrim Fathers Church literally around the corner — yeah, the actual spot where the Mayflower folks started their journey. But beyond the history, there are some seriously good coffee spots and local eateries that you’ll stumble across just wandering around. The area feels lived-in, you know? Real people actually live and work here, which gives it an authenticity that the more touristy parts of Rotterdam sometimes lack.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Mr.Lewis Rotterdam isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in the city, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable rather than just checking boxes. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area — it’s street parking mostly — but honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The tram connections are solid, and half the fun is just exploring Delfshaven on foot. Recent guests keep mentioning the location in their reviews, and I get it — there’s something special about staying somewhere that feels like a real neighborhood rather than a hotel district. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing Rotterdam the way locals do, but with all the comfort you want after a day of exploring.

Reviews of Mr.Lewis Rotterdam
Cozy hideaway for a short stay with minimal social interaction. – Josha from Belgium – September 25, 2025 (9/10)
Cozy room, lovely location at the moat. Outside of the center but accesible with a half-hour walk.
The rooms were clean with good amount of privacy and utilities. Checking in and out with a reservation is very quick and easy. Perfect for introverts who don't need a lot.
What could be improved: In the small room where I stayed there is no bedside table so relaxing with a drink or snack becomes difficult. You can sit at the table where the tea and coffee are but space is limited and you cannot recline there.Nice location, clean room, easy check inn – Hanna from Netherlands – September 2, 2025 (9/10)
Big and light room

Very nice place to stay! Beautiful and clean room. The beds are nice and the service is good. It is a self service hotel, but they send you all the information on forehand. They react very fast and are really friendly. We even got a very nice room upgrade! We will came back for sure! 🙂
