Motto By Hilton Rotterdam Blaak
About
First Impressions
Walking into Motto By Hilton Rotterdam Blaak, you immediately get that modern, streamlined vibe that Hilton's Motto brand does so well. The lobby feels fresh and uncluttered — honestly, it's a nice change from some of the stuffier hotels you'll find around Europe. What struck me right away was how the design feels distinctly Dutch without being kitschy about it, and the staff actually seemed genuinely happy to be there, which isn't always a given at four-star properties.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on Botersloot is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things in Rotterdam. You're literally steps from the Markthal — I mean, you can smell the stroopwafels from the hotel entrance — and the iconic cube houses are right there too. The Blaak metro station is maybe a two-minute walk, which makes getting around the city ridiculously easy. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to the Erasmus Bridge for evening photos, and there's this great little area along the Oude Haven that's perfect for drinks after a day of sightseeing.
The Room Experience
The room itself follows that clean, minimalist aesthetic that Motto is known for, but it doesn't feel sterile. Everything you need is there — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets (thank goodness), and a bathroom that's compact but well-designed. The bed was actually really comfortable, and I'm someone who usually struggles with hotel mattresses. The soundproofing works well too, which matters when you're staying in the city center where there's always something happening outside.
Breakfast & Amenities
Breakfast here is a solid continental buffet setup — nothing fancy, but they do it right. Fresh bread, good coffee, and enough variety to keep you happy whether you're rushing out for meetings or taking your time on vacation. The parking situation is worth mentioning because finding a spot in central Rotterdam can be a nightmare, but they've got private parking right at the hotel. It's not cheap, but honestly, the peace of mind is worth it when you're dealing with a rental car in a busy Dutch city.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances being in the absolute heart of Rotterdam with still feeling like a retreat at the end of the day. Couples especially seem to love it here — and I can see why, since you can walk to great restaurants, museums, and that whole waterfront area without dealing with complicated transport. The staff knows the neighborhood well too, so they'll point you toward the good stuff rather than just the obvious tourist spots. It's one of those hotels where you feel like you're staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend.

Very clean, practical and functional room, restaurant and bar in the hotel, well situated, staff professional, well equipped gym 100 meters away.
Big comfy bed and giant tv on the wall
The location of the place, the design of the room, the staff.
The staff was very nice and helpful. It was a really comfortable room. The bed was amazing, and we slept really well because of it. It was also in the city but very quiet which was nice.
Great bed, super friendly staff, great location
in general it was ok but nothing catching the eye, see my comments below
Quality of the room facilities (bed, shower, etc) was very good.
