But this four-star boutique property in Rotterdam‘s city center completely surprised me — in the best way possible. The building has this understated elegance that feels authentically Dutch, and you immediately sense you’re staying somewhere that locals actually respect, not just another tourist trap.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally in the heart of everything Rotterdam has to offer, but it doesn’t feel chaotic or overwhelming. The Jufferstraat itself is this charming street that somehow manages to be central without being touristy, if that makes sense. You can walk to the Markthal in about five minutes, and honestly, some of the city’s best cafés and shops are right around the corner. I mean, when couples consistently rate a place this highly for romantic getaways, there’s usually something special about the neighborhood vibe.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and Dutch character that’s actually pretty hard to find in Rotterdam. You know what struck me most? The attention to detail — from the way natural light fills the space to how thoughtfully everything’s arranged. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-designed, but everything just works. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in, which isn’t always a given in European city centers.

Daily Life at the Hotel

What really sets this place apart is how it feels more like staying in a well-appointed urban retreat than a typical hotel. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out — they’ll point you toward that little bakery that doesn’t look like much from the outside but serves the best stroopwafels you’ll ever taste. There’s this relaxed, almost residential feeling to the whole experience that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out to tick off tourist attractions.

It’s that rare combination of being perfectly located without feeling like you’re staying in the middle of a theme park. Rotterdam can be a bit overwhelming if you don’t know where to base yourself, but from Jufferstraat 10, everything feels manageable and authentic.   A really spacious and modern appartment in the heart of Rotterdam.
  Well equiped and comfortable, ideal for a three or four days stay. There's a supermarket across the canal and transportation at Blaak Square, just 10 minutes away.
  
  What could be improved: Bedrooms were nice but with an odd distribution. Beds are too small and with narrow space between the wall and the bed.
  That's the only con of the appartment.

  What could be improved: My experience with this accommodation was a complete disaster from the very beginning. The day before my trip, my apartment was moved from Jufferstraat 10 to Westesingel 321, which was already starting to cause frustration. While I understand that unforeseen events sometimes occur, the lack of communication and the last-minute change were a bad start.
  Unfortunately, things only got worse when I arrived at my assigned apartment. The first thing that hit me was a horrible smell of feces that seemed to emanate directly from the shower. It was unbearable and made it impossible to feel comfortable or clean in the space.
  In addition to the smell, the facilities were in very poor condition. The toilet seat was broken, which is unacceptable in any accommodation. The furniture had obvious stains, giving a feeling of dirt and neglect. And to top it all off, the sheets were visibly stained and gave off a foul odor, making sleeping an unpleasant experience.
  The tranquility and privacy were nonexistent. The noise from parties in other apartments constantly invaded the space, making it impossible to rest or relax. To make matters worse, the heat was unbearable, and there was no way to relieve it, which made the nights even more difficult.
  As if that weren't enough, privacy was conspicuous by its absence. There was a camera directly above my apartment door, and I noticed employees constantly wandering the hallways, watching and monitoring. I felt watched at all times, which is incredibly uncomfortable and a violation of privacy. Three days before our arrival, they asked us to vacate for breaking a rule—which was false because we read all the rules and it wasn't true—and our money wasn't refunded!
  In short, from the last-minute change to the appalling conditions of the apartment and the complete lack of privacy, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place under any circumstances.
