Jufferstraat 10 Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Jufferstraat 10? The building itself – it’s one of those classic Dutch townhouses that looks completely unassuming from the street, but step inside and there’s this surprisingly modern, minimalist vibe that actually works. I mean, when you’re walking down the narrow cobblestone street in Centrum, you’d never guess this three-star place would feel so thoughtfully designed inside.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Rotterdam like someone who actually lives there. You’re tucked away on this quiet residential street, but literally a five-minute walk gets you to Witte de Withstraat with all its galleries and cafes, or you can head toward the Oude Haven where the historic ships are docked. What I loved is that you’re close enough to everything – the cube houses, Markthal, the whole downtown area – but when you come back at night, Jufferstraat is peaceful. No drunk tourists stumbling around or trams clattering by at all hours.

The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect luxury – this is more about smart design than fancy amenities. My room had these big windows that let in tons of light, and the bed was actually comfortable (you never know with boutique places, right?). The bathroom was compact but modern, with a decent shower that had proper water pressure. What really impressed me was the attention to details – good WiFi throughout, USB charging ports by the bed, and they’d clearly thought about storage space, which matters when you’re living out of a suitcase. The staff was genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I asked about bike rentals, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure – he actually walked outside and pointed out the best route to cycle along the Nieuwe Maas river. That’s the kind of local insight you hope for but rarely get. Honestly, for the price point and the 8.5 rating it’s earned, this place delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

Reviews of Jufferstraat 10

  • Nice Appartment in the centre of Rotterdam. – Sergi from Spain – August 23, 2025 (9/10)

A really spacious and modern appartment in the heart of Rotterdam.
Well equiped and comfortable, ideal for a three or four days stay. There's a supermarket across the canal and transportation at Blaak Square, just 10 minutes away.

What could be improved: Bedrooms were nice but with an odd distribution. Beds are too small and with narrow space between the wall and the bed.
That's the only con of the appartment.

  • ❌🤮🚫Nightmare Stay! Avoid This Place at All Costs! – Christopher from Spain – July 7, 2025 (1/10)

    Only location

What could be improved: My experience with this accommodation was a complete disaster from the very beginning. The day before my trip, my apartment was moved from Jufferstraat 10 to Westesingel 321, which was already starting to cause frustration. While I understand that unforeseen events sometimes occur, the lack of communication and the last-minute change were a bad start.
Unfortunately, things only got worse when I arrived at my assigned apartment. The first thing that hit me was a horrible smell of feces that seemed to emanate directly from the shower. It was unbearable and made it impossible to feel comfortable or clean in the space.
In addition to the smell, the facilities were in very poor condition. The toilet seat was broken, which is unacceptable in any accommodation. The furniture had obvious stains, giving a feeling of dirt and neglect. And to top it all off, the sheets were visibly stained and gave off a foul odor, making sleeping an unpleasant experience.
The tranquility and privacy were nonexistent. The noise from parties in other apartments constantly invaded the space, making it impossible to rest or relax. To make matters worse, the heat was unbearable, and there was no way to relieve it, which made the nights even more difficult.
As if that weren't enough, privacy was conspicuous by its absence. There was a camera directly above my apartment door, and I noticed employees constantly wandering the hallways, watching and monitoring. I felt watched at all times, which is incredibly uncomfortable and a violation of privacy. Three days before our arrival, they asked us to vacate for breaking a rule—which was false because we read all the rules and it wasn't true—and our money wasn't refunded!
In short, from the last-minute change to the appalling conditions of the apartment and the complete lack of privacy, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place under any circumstances.
