Hotel Port
About
First Impressions
Hotel Port sits quietly on Pieter de hoochweg in Rotterdam's historic Delfshaven district, and honestly, the location caught me off guard in the best way possible. This three-star property doesn't try to be something it's not — instead, it delivers solid comfort in one of the city's most charming neighborhoods. The building itself has that understated Dutch practicality you see throughout Rotterdam, but there's something welcoming about the entrance that immediately puts you at ease.
The Delfshaven Experience
You know what's brilliant about staying here? Delfshaven feels like stepping into old Holland while still being properly connected to modern Rotterdam. I mean, this is where the Pilgrims actually departed for America back in 1620 — you can walk to the historic harbor in about five minutes. The neighborhood has these narrow cobblestone streets lined with traditional Dutch houses, completely different from Rotterdam's famous modern architecture downtown. Couples absolutely love wandering around here (the 8.4 location rating from pairs makes total sense), and you'll find cozy brown cafes and local restaurants that most tourists never discover.
Getting Around
The tram connections from this area are actually excellent — you can reach Rotterdam Centraal station in about 15 minutes, which surprised me the first time I stayed here. What I really appreciate is how you get the best of both worlds: peaceful evenings in historic Delfshaven, but easy access to the city center when you want the urban energy. The Erasmus Bridge and the bustling Markthal are just a short ride away, but honestly, some evenings you won't want to leave the neighborhood at all.
Rooms and Comfort
The rooms at Hotel Port are clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged — exactly what you'd expect from a solid three-star property in the Netherlands. They're not huge (this is Holland, after all), but everything works properly and the beds are genuinely comfortable. The bathrooms are modern enough, and you'll find those little touches that show the staff actually cares about guest experience. I particularly liked how quiet the rooms stay despite being on a residential street — good windows make all the difference for a proper night's sleep.
Why Guests Love It
The breakfast setup here deserves mention — they offer both continental and buffet options, which gives you flexibility depending on whether you're rushing off to meetings or planning a leisurely morning exploring Delfshaven's historic sites. What really sets this place apart, though, is the authentic Rotterdam experience you get. You're not staying in some generic hotel district; you're actually living in a real neighborhood where locals go about their daily lives. The combination of reasonable rates, reliable comfort, and that fantastic location rating makes perfect sense once you've spent a night or two here.

Great service and comfortable rooms
The position was practical, and there was always parking available nearby (and not too expensive). The room was essential, comfortable, very practical and very clean, and the bathroom was not too big but the shower was excellent.
i like the hot water
Location
good location, clean room, good staff!
Great location, good sized room, very friendly staff.
Good breakfast, walking distance to Euromast
The employees were very nice.
Location is good, staff is service-minded. Breakfast is very simple and basic. The whole hotel is old, if using the staircase, very narrow and tight, be careful. If you're are choosing the room with bathtub, yes it's big for 2 pers but deep, that means be careful when stepping out there and don't fall. In general, a cosy and simple hotel.
