Hilton Rotterdam
About
First Impressions
Walking into the Hilton Rotterdam, you immediately sense you're in one of those five-star hotels that actually gets it right. The lobby has this sleek, modern Dutch design that feels sophisticated without being stuffy — honestly, it's the kind of place where you feel comfortable whether you're in business attire or smart casual. What struck me most was how the staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests, not just going through the motions. The location on Weena puts you right in Rotterdam's beating heart, and I mean that literally — step outside and you're surrounded by the city's impressive modern architecture and bustling energy.
The Perfect Rotterdam Base
You know what makes this location so brilliant? You're a five-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal Station, which means easy connections to Amsterdam, The Hague, or anywhere else in the Netherlands. But more importantly for exploring Rotterdam itself, you're positioned perfectly between the historic harbor area and the city's famous modern architecture district. The Markthal is practically around the corner, and those iconic cube houses are an easy stroll away. Couples especially seem to love this spot — and I can see why, since you can walk to romantic dinner spots along the waterfront or catch a sunset from the Erasmus Bridge without any hassle.
Luxury Rooms That Actually Work
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between luxury and functionality that business travelers and tourists both appreciate. Mine had floor-to-ceiling windows with views over the city (though honestly, even the courtyard-facing rooms are quite pleasant), and the bed was one of those where you actually sleep well instead of just sinking into an overly soft mattress. The bathroom was spacious with a proper shower that had excellent water pressure — small details, but they matter when you're exploring a city all day. What I really appreciated was the workspace setup; the desk actually had proper lighting and enough outlets for all your devices.
Breakfast Worth Getting Up For
I'll be honest — hotel breakfasts can be hit or miss, but the buffet here is genuinely impressive. They've got everything from a proper full English breakfast to continental options, plus they actually do justice to vegetarian and vegan choices (not just sad fruit and toast). The Dutch cheeses alone are worth the early wake-up call, and they make a mean cappuccino. The breakfast room gets busy around 8 AM with business travelers, so if you prefer a quieter experience, aim for 7 AM or after 9:30 AM when things calm down a bit.
Why Guests Love It
There's something to be said for a hotel that draws repeat visitors — and this place clearly does that well. I think it's because they've mastered the art of being professionally excellent without feeling impersonal. The parking situation is sorted if you're driving (which is actually quite convenient in Rotterdam), and the staff genuinely knows the city well enough to give you proper recommendations, not just tourist trap suggestions. Whether you're here for business meetings in Rotterdam's financial district or planning to explore the Netherlands from a central base, this Hilton delivers that five-star experience that feels both polished and authentically Dutch.
Apartments in Rotterdam provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Dutch cafes and experience daily life in historic neighborhoods like Kralingen and Blijdorp.

Walking distance to central train station, good restaurants and steak houses near the hotel. Very good breakfast.
The hotel was in a very central spot of Rotterdam close to to shops and main centre. The restaurant and hotel was spacious with a great breakfast. The executive lounge was ok also but could be better.
