Bed and Breakfast Rotterdam
About
First Impressions
Walking up to Bed and Breakfast Rotterdam on Graaf Florisstraat, you immediately get the sense that this isn't your typical chain hotel experience. The building sits quietly in the Delfshaven neighborhood, and honestly, that's part of its charm — you're staying somewhere that feels genuinely Dutch rather than generically international. This four-star B&B has that intimate scale where the hosts actually know your name, which I found refreshing after so many anonymous hotel stays.
The Delfshaven Advantage
Here's what I love about this location — Delfshaven is one of those Rotterdam neighborhoods that survived the WWII bombing, so you're actually walking on historic cobblestones and seeing 17th-century architecture. The area feels like a small Dutch town that got absorbed by the big city, you know? You can walk to the historic harbor in about five minutes, and there's this great local café scene that most tourists completely miss. The tram connections are solid too, so getting to Rotterdam Centraal or the city center is straightforward.
The Room Experience
My room had this perfect balance of modern comfort and traditional Dutch character — think exposed beams but with excellent Wi-Fi and a really good shower. The beds are proper quality (I'm picky about this), and the windows actually open, which seems obvious but you'd be surprised how many places seal you in. What struck me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets where you need them, and parking that's actually included, which in Rotterdam is basically like finding gold.
Morning Rituals
The breakfast situation here is where the B&B format really shines. Instead of fighting crowds at a buffet, you sit down to a proper Dutch breakfast with fresh bread, local cheeses, and coffee that doesn't taste like it came from a machine. The hosts clearly know their suppliers — everything tastes like it came from actual farms rather than industrial kitchens. I mean, when was the last time you had butter that you could actually taste? They'll also work around dietary restrictions without making a big production of it. This attention to detail extends throughout your entire stay.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you've stayed here — it's the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right without trying to be flashy about it. Couples especially seem drawn to the intimate atmosphere and the fact that you can actually have a conversation at breakfast without shouting over other guests. The neighborhood gives you that authentic Rotterdam experience while still being completely accessible to everything you want to see in the city. Plus, the value proposition is solid — you're getting personal service and a great location without paying city center prices. The combination of genuine hospitality and thoughtful amenities makes this B&B truly memorable.

We would definitely stay again.
Having your breakfast brought to you each morning on a trolley felt very luxurious. Everything was freshly prepared and the gluten-free bread was the best I have tasted. After a long day of sightseeing, we came back to a jug of homemade lemonade, which was most welcome. The hosts were very informative about the local area and exceptionally friendly.

We really enjoyed the stay, would recommend to anyone who visits Rotterdam.
The location is great to explore Rotterdam city, walking distance to the central. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and clean. Simone and Erwin provided excellent breakfast in room, very well organised with great nutritional value! They also are very helpful with the tourist information. We had a bit difficulty with the parking, but Erwin helped to sort it out immediately. Thank you!

The best bed and breakfast in Rotterdam has easy access to the city center.
The bed and breakfast is a great location, on a quiet street with Dutch row houses near the city center and railway station. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast served by Simone at a table in my room was the best home made breakfast I have had.
Nothing I noticed, all great.
