Bed and Breakfast Rotterdam Overview

You know what struck me first about Bed and Breakfast Rotterdam? It’s tucked away on Graaf Florisstraat in this quietly charming pocket of Delfshaven that honestly feels like a different world from the bustling city center. I mean, Rotterdam isn’t exactly known for its cozy corners – it’s all modern architecture and industrial energy – but this little three-star gem sits in what’s essentially the old harbor district where you can still see remnants of the city’s maritime past. The street itself is lined with these beautiful historic houses, and walking there in the morning actually felt like stepping back a century or two.

The place has this wonderfully unpretentious vibe that I wasn’t quite expecting. The owners – and you’ll definitely meet them during your stay – have managed to create something that feels genuinely homey without being overly precious about it. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that European B&B way where everything is perfectly functional but has character, you know? Mine overlooked a small courtyard, and I loved hearing the church bells from nearby Oude Kerk in the early morning (though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe mention that when booking). What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being reasonably close to the tram lines – you can catch the 4 or 8 tram just a few minutes’ walk away, which gets you to Central Station in about fifteen minutes.

Honestly, the 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. The breakfast is the kind where they actually ask what you’d like rather than just pointing to a buffet, and they know their neighborhood inside and out – I got better restaurant recommendations from them than from any guidebook. Delfshaven itself is this lovely area that most tourists skip entirely, which is sort of a shame because you’ve got the historic harbor right there, some fantastic local cafes, and it’s genuinely walkable to places like the Euromast if you don’t mind a twenty-minute stroll. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street (typical Rotterdam), but they’ll sort you out with advice on where to find spots, and there’s usually something available if you’re not too picky. The whole experience feels refreshingly authentic – like staying with distant relatives who happen to live in one of Europe’s most interesting port cities rather than just booking a room somewhere.

  • We would definitely stay again. – Diane from Austria – September 3, 2025 (9/10)

Having your breakfast brought to you each morning on a trolley felt very luxurious. Everything was freshly prepared and the gluten-free bread was the best I have tasted. After a long day of sightseeing, we came back to a jug of homemade lemonade, which was most welcome.
The hosts were very informative about the local area and exceptionally friendly.
