The moment you walk in, there’s this authentic Alpine charm that feels lived-in rather than decorated – wooden beams that actually creak a bit when you walk upstairs, and this sort of cozy mustiness that reminds you you’re in a real mountain guesthouse, not some chain hotel.

The rooms are what you’d call thoughtfully simple – nothing fancy, but everything works and there’s genuine attention to comfort. My bed had one of those thick European duvets that somehow keeps you perfectly warm without making you sweat, and the windows actually open wide (which is rarer than you’d think these days). What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night; you can hear the wind through whatever trees are nearby, but no road noise or neighbor drama. The breakfast situation is where they really shine though – proper local stuff, not the usual continental spread, and the hosts clearly know their suppliers.

Speaking of the hosts, they’re the kind of people who remember your name after one conversation and actually have useful suggestions about hiking trails or where to grab dinner. That 9.2 rating makes total sense once you spend a day or two here – it’s not about luxury, it’s about that feeling when everything just works and people genuinely care about your experience. If you’re looking for a spa or fancy restaurant on-site, this isn’t your place, but if you want to feel like you’ve discovered something authentic in the mountains, well, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  I wanted to share my wonderful experience during my stay in Rotterdam. I absolutely loved the room; it was clean and cozy. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall charm of my visit.
  
  However, what truly stood out for me was the observatory/sunroom in the room. It provided a unique and enjoyable space to relax and take in the beautiful views. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended! 🙂

  The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The area is very nice and you can travel to the Rotterdam's centre in 20 min.

  1. The neighbourhood Hillegersberg is just great, very elegant and peaceful. We especially enjoyed the lakes.
  2. The owner is truly likeable. Loved the welcome wine!
  3. The red-white cat lady from the neighbourhood is very friendly, too. She even came to my bed.
  4. The suite isn't very large, but it's cleverly arranged and therefore comfortable. Plus, the glassed patio adds a lot of space.
  5. Everything works. I mean, all aplliances function, there's electricity in all sockets, the shower won't burn or freeze you, and so on. Whoever travels a lot, knows that's not always the case.

  Our stay was nothing short of perfect! A gorgeous neighbourhood, with a beautiful adventure park near by that our two children absolutely loved! Will 100% be returning in the future.

  Everything was spot on.
  The location may seem a bit out of town, but a regular tram into the city centre is just a minute's walk away, followed by a 15-minute ride to Rotterdam Centraal.
  And Lonneke was kind enough to loan me a OV chipcard, which made travel on the metro also straightforward.
  But that was typical of her and Duco. Nothing was too much trouble.
  The location is also in a nice part of town, with a supermarket less than 10 minutes away.

  It has been all perfect, the accommodation a kind of magic, like being at home. very nice and comfortable room, peaceful, clean, fluffy towels, beautiful veranda and dehor, nice garden.
